So it really exists...
Hold W to turn into snow, release W to freeeeeze!"
The Snowman is a tier 15 Arctic animal in Mope.io, and the equivalent of the Yeti, Dragon, T-REX, The Bigfoot, The Kraken, King Crab and Pterodactyl.
It was added as a Store-exclusive animal in the "#GoldenAge" update on December 23, 2019, meaning it would only appear on the Upgrade Menu after being bought at the time. In the Mini Winter Update on December 31, 2020, The Snowman's rarity was set to reduce to 1/10 when purchased, essentially making its spawn rate similar to that of a rare animal.
Technical[]
- Upgrades from the Elephant, Cassowary, Giant Spider, Blue Whale, Mammoth or Black widow Spider at 1M XP.
- Upgrades to the Land Monster, Dino Monster, Sea Monster, Ice Monster or Giant Scorpion at 5M XP.
- If The Snowman has not been purchased from the Store, it has a 1/2000 chance of appearing on the Upgrade Menu at 1M XP.
- The Snowman is available for purchase in the Store for 3000 mope coins. Once bought, its rarity is reduced to 1/10.
- It can consume almost all food sources in the game. The only ones it cannot eat are berries, dates, and cactus pears.
- Prey of The Snowman includes all animals within the range of tier 14 to tier 6 (Mammoth to Arctic Fox).
- Predators of the Snowman includes all animals within the range of tier 16 to tier 17 animals (Ice Monster to Black Dragon).
- The Special Ability of The Snowman is the "Snow Roar". When pressing
W
, it will create an icy circle around it that freezes, stuns and damages animals within the radius. Five snowballs (two at the front, three at the back) will also be fired, which inflict further damage, freezing and stunning all animals they come into contact with. - The Snowman is immune to Ink and can climb hills, move fast in water, and turn invisible when the player does not move.
- The Snowman can hide in all Hiding Spots, with the exception of small hiding holes.
Appearance[]
The Snowman[]
The current default Snowman skin has a large body of snow. It has a red top hat with holly on the front, and a green band with white spots. The scarf of The Snowman is red, with green stripes, and it has a carrot nose and a smile made out of what are presumably rocks. Its arms are two brown sticks covered in multi-colored Christmas lights and two red mittens on the end. Underneath its scarf, The Snowman has two vertically-aligned buttons.
Classic Skin[]
The Classic skin of The Snowman has a white body made of snow; it consists of two circles, the larger one being the body, and a smaller one being the head. It wears a Santa hat with matching mittens that are on stick arms, and a green scarf, with "buttons" and a smiling mouth made out of presumably rocks. It has a carrot nose that turns orange when using the "Snow Roar" ability, and its hat covers up part of its eyes. When diving, The Snowman's carrot nose can still be seen.
Strategy[]
- Firstly, it is wise to not rely on obtaining The Snowman via luck; it is purchasable in the Store for 3000 coins, which is affordable compared to other Store-bought animals.
- Secondly, this animal is essentially an upgraded version of The Yeti. The same strategies can be applied to it, with additional consideration of The Snowman's invisibility.
- The Snowman's ability is extremely effective on its prey, but not so much on fellow tier 15 apexes and predators. Because of this, the closer the player is to animals when using the Snow Roar, the higher chance there is of more damage being inflicted.
- Against threats such as another more powerful apex, or a predator, using the Snow Roar from a longer distance is better, as this will cause more knockback and put more distance between the player and the targeted animal. Furthermore, it is a good stalling strategy for eroding another player's Health Bar over time.
- For leveling up, killing and eating prey such as the Wolverine, Sabertooth Tiger and Mammoth is a good start. Such animals are also, Arctic-dwelling, so if the player is in a big server, they should see quite a few of them. Through utilization of The Snowman's ability, any prey can be easy to kill.
- Wolverines and Mammoths are easier due to their disadvantage of being unable to climb on hills (the latter is also unable to climb on trees, though the former can). Due to this, whenever the aforementioned animals are seen in hilly areas, blast them with the "Snow Roar" ability against hills to severely damage them.
- The Snowman's ability ability will only take away 5/7 of the average prey's health, so it is essential to bite them twice or thrice before dealing the final blow. A good way to do this is to become invisible by not moving (ideally near a water spot), and press
W
, when prey gets near.
- The main predator to worry about is the Ice Monster if the player is in the Arctic. When up against it, it will likely frequently use its "Freeze Prey" ability that shoots out ice crystals. These can be avoided on hills (where the Ice Monster is very slow).
- Generally, it is good practice not to fight an Ice Monster unless necessary or if the player is not alone. Options of escape are the Ocean biome (not Land as the Ice Monster won't receive a debuff there, and can move normally), or camping in a hiding hole. The latter can be more dangerous if the Ice Monster decides to camp the player.
- As previously mentioned, the Snow Roar is useful in its excessive force, which can knock a pursuing Ice Monster far back and put some distance between it and the player.
- Often making an alliance with a Kraken or King Crab can be helpful to prevent the Ice Monster from escaping, but a Snowman can still potentially kill one in the Ocean independently. However, do not be too confident, or the player will become the Ice Monster's meal.
- The player may also choose to exit the Arctic biome and inhabit the Land or Ocean biomes, as The Snowman is able to adapt to their terrain forms without experiencing debuff (burning). However, the Desert and Volcano biomes should be avoided due to The Snowman not being immune to debuff in them.
- In Land and the Ocean, there are different threats that the player should avoid. Main threats of the Land biome are T-Rexes, Dino Monsters and Black Dragons, while the Ocean's threats include The Kraken, King Crab and Sea Monster. All will typically not follow the player deep into the Arctic (especially Ocean animals as they cannot survive or use abilities on dry land).
- For fun, the player can even go to the Arctic Volcano and use the "Snow Roar" on it. The snowballs will rocket away, potentially hitting and startling any nearby animals.
- When using The Snowman's ability in a Tornado, the snowballs shot out will be whisked around in the tornado and will be launched out soon after. This allows the player to spawn snowballs even far away from the Arctic.
