The Macaw is a tier 7 Land animal in Mope.io, and the equivalent of the Donkey, Zebra, Turtle, Muskox and Warthog.
Technical[]
Macaw[]
- Upgrades from the Fox, Hedgehog, Peacock, Jellyfish, Arctic Fox or Fennec Fox at 12K XP.
- Upgrades to the Cobra, Giraffe, Stingray, Walrus, Snowy Owl or Warthog at 25K XP.
- Can eat all animals within Fox and Rabbit tiers.
- Can eat every food except for Coconuts, Bananas, Cacti, Aloevera, Conch shells, Clams and large Meat.
- Is able to be eaten by animals from Cobra+
- Has two different abilities:
- If you hold
Wwhile not on a hill or if you were hurt 0.5 seconds before, you fly. Formerly, if you last visited a food source, you would throw that food immediately upon flight. However, this feature was removed, and now exclusive to the Toucan. - If you hold
Won a hill, you will disguise as one of the animals listed below. When you release W, a small area of sound will be emitted by the Macaw (similarly to the Lion). The disguises for the regular Macaw are as follows:

Blue Macaw[]
- All of the above (excluding disguises).
- Has a higher Health Bar.
- Can disguise as the following animals:
Pakistan Macaw[]
- All of the above (except for some disguises).
- It can fly 35% faster than the other Macaws.
- Can survive in all biomes.
- Can disguise as the following animals - they will look a lot smaller:
- Phoenix
- Black Dragon
- Dragon
- The Kraken
- King Crab
- The Yeti
- T-REX
- Any animal a Normal Macaw can be, but less common for a normal animal, and more common for a rare like a Golden Eagle or a Rare White Dove.

Gold Trim[]
The Gold Trimmed Macaw’s yellow feathers turn gold, as well as its face. It’s tail feathers are also bigger. It has the appearance of a normal Macaw besides that, and there is no blue variant.
Red Macaw (#GoldenAge)[]
The Macaw has a red body with red wings. The wings have yellow and blue stripes, as do the tail-feathers. Its beak is pale pink, and it has white circles around its eyes.
Blue Macaw (#GoldenAge)[]
The Blue Macaw has blue wings and tail feathers. Its eyes are lined with white circles, which have creases, and a sharp black beak. A small green crest of fur is seen right above its head.
Pakistan Macaw (#GoldenAge)[]
The Pakistan Macaw is a dark green version of the normal Macaw, resembling the Pakistani flag's colors. It has a white underside. When flying, the symbol on Pakistan's flag can be seen from underneath its wings.
Classic Red Macaw[]
The old Macaw looks like a more squished down version of the current Macaw, with larger tail feathers. It lacks the ruffles of fur on the wings, and its pinkish beak is much flatter and triangular.

Strategy[]
As a Macaw[]
- As a Macaw, try to deceive lower tiers by mimicking weakened prey for them.
- If you are feeling particularly nasty, you can camp at the ocean, mimic a Squid, and slowly move on land. Then, when your prey has been deceived and tries to push you on land, go in for the kill. If your disguise comes as a lower tier animal (e.g. Mouse), you can try to tail-bite high tier predators such as a Dragon!
- Another way to tail-bite predators is to fly above them, and then land on their tail to bite it! Make it look like you're not focusing on the predator so they don't get suspicious. Macaws emit rings similar to the Rattlesnake's when shifting out of disguise, so use these to stun your prey, and/or make a quick escape from predators. However these rings do not last long, so act fast! You can also use them to catch up and eat prey.
- If you would rather quickly and efficiently level up, farm Red mushrooms, Pears and eat Honey Bees by disturbing a Beehive. The latter method will be more dangerous if on low health as Honey Bees can sting and potentially kill in large numbers; however, a single Bee is enough to level up. Furthermore, going to the Volcano and shooting water at watermelons by pressing
Son your keyboard is also a fast way to farm.
Against a Macaw[]
- The key to figuring out whether an animal is disguised as a Macaw or not, is to look at its outlines. For predators, a green outline will show on the inner side of the disguise. For prey, the red outline will show on the inner side. Usually the macaw is smaller too, and will have lower health. Always use your ability if you see a small low health-ed animal. The disguised Macaw also can’t heal its fake health bar, so it is permanently low. It moves slower and can still climb hills.
- Prey generally don't need to worry about Macaws, as prey is trivial at tier 7. However, make sure to guard your tail if you're a predator. If you see an animal heading straight for your tail, turn around and face it. Upon impact, the disguise will wear off if the animal is a Macaw. If not, no need to worry.
- When a Macaw is flying, also make sure to guard your tail. Unlike some flying animals, they are able to instantly land on the ground, without warning or a visible descent. Therefore, be sure to swivel around and guard your tail as much as you can!

Trivia[]
- Fans in the comment section of KOA's YouTube videos actually wanted the Macaw to be a lower tier, however, it was initially released as a tier 10 animal. However, it was later demoted to tier 7.
- The Blue Macaw formerly had a ludicrous amount of health, taking around 12-17 hits to kill and falling second place to the King Dragon (though only having a 1/10 chance to get).
- The Pakistan Macaw and Toucan both used to be immune to lava; now this is exclusive to the Pakistan Toucan.
- A Blue Macaw can get a shark disguise by using their ability in a bush.
