The Shop's user interface since March 29, 2025

The Store's location on the home screen (top right)
The Shop, alternatively known as the Store, is a feature in Mope.io that is accessible via the home screen. It allows players to purchase products such as skins, 1v1 Redemption credits, assets and currency, via an account.
The Shop was introduced in the "Golden Age" update on December 23, 2019, and initially had a limited number of skins. Many more skins were added between 2020 and 2023.
All interactions with mopecoins were temporarily disabled on October 22, 2024. On March 29, 2025, mopecoins were restored and the new premium currency of gems was added, along with new skins for the first time since October 2023.
Accounts[]

The login buttons within the Shop, shown for logged out users.
An account is a prerequisite in order to access and make purchases in the Shop. Accounts can be created by signing up with a Google, Facebook, Apple or Discord account. It is not confirmed whether there are only Login buttons to sign up, but the player continues the same way they would if they were logging in to sign up.
To log out of an account, the player must go to the home screen and click the Log Out
button next to the Shop
button on the top right section of the screen. It is possible to logs out of and/or switch accounts between games, and still maintain one's in-game XP progress as long as it is the same client session.
Multiple accounts can be created with different Google, Facebook, Apple and Discord accounts, but skins and coins that the player buys will be kept exclusive to individual accounts, depending on which one is being used during gameplay. However, properties such as skins or coins cannot be transferred from one account to another.
If the Google/Facebook/Apple/Discord account that the player used to sign up is deleted, the associated Mope.io account will effectively be deleted as well. For this reason, when signing up, it is recommended to use a personal or private account. In particular, if the player is using a Google email account, it is strongly advised to not use a school or work email as they are often deleted by the associated institution after a certain point.
Troubleshooting[]
If the player is having trouble logging into their account, it might be linked to one of the following issues:
- Browser cache problems: clear browser history by pressing
CTRL + H
and then clearing history and cache. Then, try logging in again - Adblock: if the player has an adblocker enabled, it will need to be disabled to allow catchpa to work properly. Alternatively, a different browser may need to be used.
Settings[]

The settings tab as seen in the Shop. For this player, there are zero 1v1 Redemption credits; the Mope ID is censored
Once the player has logged in to their account, they can access the Settings
tab in the Shop. The settings tab contains two features: "Mope ID" and "Redemption Credits". The latter refers to however many credits the player has for the 1v1 Redemption game mode; Redemption credits can be purchased from the features section.
The Mope ID is a unique player identifier, which appears as censored by asterisks in a blue box. Different Mope IDs are used by the developers to ban accounts that have broken the terms of service of Mope.io, or more positively, to reward players who won giveaways or other events with mopecoins.
By clicking on the blue box, the player's Mope ID will be revealed to them. Do not share your Mope ID with anyone.
Banning[]

The message that shows up when a player is banned, saying the player has been disconnected by themselves.
From September 25, 2020, if a player is found to be using mods or hacks of any kind to give themselves an advantage in-game, their account will be banned, rendering it unusable. Usually, the developers will ban accounts by using their Mope ID to ban them.
In addition, a group of in-game moderators called the Mope Police Squad (MPS) have the ability to ban people who are using hacks in-game; they can do so by clicking on a player with a red target. However, the MPS has not been active in-game since 2022.
Addicting Games (AG) announced in September 2021 that anyone who uses unfair hacks will have their account banned: including but not limited to illegal sandbox servers, game-changing scripts, accessing and manipulating accounts, 1v1 bots, spawn bots, etc.[1]
Chat[]
Since July 30, 2021, accounts have been required to use the in-game chat feature. Logged-out players cannot use the chat, but will be able to see chat messages from logged-in players.
Currency[]
The Shop uses two virtual currencies: mopecoins and gems. The amount of mopecoins and gems that the player has in their account will be displayed in the top right corner of the Shop.
Mopecoins[]

A mopecoin as depicted in the Shop
Mopecoins (also called coins) are the main currency of the Shop, having existed since its inception. Mopecoins are accumulated through gameplay while a player is logged in to their account, as long as ad-blocker is disabled. The amount of mopecoins earned after dying in-game is determined on what tier the player reaches, how many animals they killed, and other factors. The coins earned during gameplay are added to the player's account on death, disconnection, or by exiting the game (refreshing the page will not add the coins to the player's account and they will be lost).
Between October 22, 2024 and March 29, 2025, mopecoins were disabled and it was impossible to earn or buy them, or buy any items. As of now they are currently usable. Selecting a rare animal from the upgrade menu or killing a rare animal player, used to give extra coins to the player's account: this was known as the "rare bounty". However, the rare bounty was removed on March 29.
In-game[]

- Main article: Mopecoin
Since November 1, 2020, mopecoins are an edible food source in the game. They can be found in any biome, and when consumed will add 1 coin to the player's account and around 3-4 XP when eaten. The more players there are in a server, the more mopecoins will spawn. All animals from tier 1 to tier 17 (excluding AI Animals) can eat mopecoins.
Mopecoins can also be earned via the soccer pumpkin item; when carried, pumpkins will provide both XP and coins to the player's account, provided they are logged in.
Gems[]

A gem as depicted in the Shop
Gems are a premium currency of the Shop, added on March 29, 2025. Unlike mopecoins, gems are not earned from gameplay or as a food source: the only way to acquire them is by purchasing them with real-life money via microtransactions. Mistik has stated that it will be possible to earn gems for free in the future.[2]
Several items in the Shop which previously were bought using mopecoins have since been changed to only be purchasable using gems, including the Golden, Locked, and Classic skin packs.
Microtransactions[]
Mopecoins and gems can be purchased in the Shop with real-life transactions in bulk amounts, using U.S. dollars (USD).[note 1] The purchase offers can be seen by going into the Shop, and then clicking on the Coins
tab to buy mopecoins, or the Gems
tab to buy gems.
Payment is processed through Xsolla, and requires usage of a credit or debit card, or other mobile payment. PayPal, Google Pay, and Amazon Pay can be used.

Purchasable items[]

The Shop's filter options
The majority of purchasable items in the Shop are bought using mopecoins. Only a select few skins, as well as all Deals, cost gems. The items in each tab can be filtered based on price, how new they are, and if they are on sale.
If the player has insufficient funds when attempting to buy a particular item, a notice will appear saying "You don't have enough currency to purchase this!" (formerly "You don't have enough mope coins!" before gems were added).
Items that the player has purchased can be viewed by going into the Shop, and clicking on the Purchases
tab to see purchased skins, and the My Deals
tab to see purchased deals.
Skins[]

Some skins in the Shop (page 1 of 38). Screenshot taken before the gems update
- Main article: Skins
Skins are cosmetic models that alters the appearance of animals. Shop skins do not provide any advantage in gameplay over regular skins.
The Shop displays skins in alphabetic order from A–Z. Some skins from the Shop can be bought individually for a smaller cost, while others can only be bought in a bundle purchase. If a skin is bought, it will no longer appear in the Shop and will shift the position of other skins. The Shop additionally has a filter that can isolate Skins based on their price as seen above.
The art style of skins in the Shop are distinguished as either Season 1 (S1) or Season 2 (S2). Season 1 skins are skins released in the era of December 23, 2019 to February 1, 2022, and from November 15, 2024 to the present day; they are typically characterized as "high-definition" and have a moderate level of detail. Season 2 skins, released between February 1, 2022 and November 15, 2024, are extremely detailed or "ultra high-definition".
As of November 15, 2024, to apply skins in-game the player must customize them accordingly via the wardrobe. This can be done by going to the Wardrobe
tab in the Shop, scrolling down to the animal that the player wants to change the skin of based on its tier (e.g. to change the Mouse's skin, go to the tier 1 section; for the Dragon's skins, the tier 15 section). Then, select the skin from the dropdown.
Some Shop skins can only be purchased with the premium currency of gems; they are called premium skins. However, the majority of skins still use mopecoins. As of March 29, 2025, the only premium skins (i.e. skins that are bought with gems) are the March 2025 skins, and all King Dragon skins.
Deals[]
Deals are bulk purchases that provide the buyer with multiple skins at once (also called "skin packs"), and are typically rather costly. Currently, the discount Locked and Golden deals are the only ways to obtain the respective skins since July 30, 2021.
On March 29, 2025, the Gold Trim Skin packs were removed from the Shop, and the remaining deals have been changed to cost gems rather than mopecoins.

Features[]
Features are additional items that are able to be bought for mopecoins. Unlike Shop skins, Features are not just aesthetic and are exclusive to the Shop; players that are logged-out of their account cannot access them.
The Bigfoot, Snowman, and Snowgirl used to be purchasable "Brand Features" in the Shop for 25000, 3000, and 20000 mopecoins respectively; when bought, their rarity would decrease from 1/1000 to 1/10 upon reaching tier 15. However, these animals were all removed from the Shop on March 29, 2025; now their rarity will always be 1/1000 for players who did not purchase them prior to their removal.

Criticism[]
Pay-to-win features[]

The Snowman in the Shop, for a cost of 3000 mopecoins. It and the Bigfoot were criticized as "pay-to-win" features
Upon the initial release of the Shop to Mope.io in December 2019, it was heavily criticized as a concept. Many players disliked the prospect of pay-to-win (P2W) features such as microtransactions and online currency being implemented to Mope.io. Responses to this early criticism were that the Shop skins were purely aesthetic, gave no real advantage in-game, and gave players more incentive to play the game to "grind" for coins, in order to buy skins.
Bigfoot[]

The Bigfoot in the Shop, for a cost of 25000 mopecoins. It was seen as unfair for being both overpowered and a "pay-to-win" feature.
The Bigfoot was added to the Shop on March 3, 2020. This caused even more Mope.io players to lambast the Shop. Since the Bigfoot and Snowman were rare animals which could be guaranteed by purchasing them directly from the Shop, they were seen as unfair pay-to-win features. In addition to being one of the most powerful tier 15 animals, the Bigfoot's high cost made it hard to achieve even for players with accounts.
The Snowman to a lesser extent was criticized as pay-to-win as well, though it was not as powerful as the regular Yeti since its only unique trait was invisibility. On the other hand, the Bigfoot was arguably the most powerful apex at the time and thus negatively received.
In response to this criticism and in an attempt to balance out both the Bigfoot and Snowman, they became rare animals on December 31, 2020; if purchased from the Shop, there is only a 1/10 chance that players will be able to pick them from the upgrade menu. This change was received positively by the vast majority of players.
Powerups[]

The powerups in the Shop.
- Main article: Powerups § Criticism
Purchasable buffs known as powerups were added to the Shop in Beta Mope.io on January 10, 2024, and released live on January 23. They were universally lambasted by the community for being blatantly pay-to-win features that promoted an unfair advantage for those with coins. The powerups feature reflected negatively on AG, which did not remove powerups despite heavy criticism. Powerups were removed by 3AM Experiences on November 15, 2024, which was met with approval from the Mope.io community.
Shop-focused updates[]
Since around mid-2021, players of the Mope.io community called out the developers for primarily releasing updates centered around adding new skins to the Shop rather than new content. This criticism was mainly directed towards AG, which released a high volume of skins and very little content from 2021 to 2023.
Disabling of coins[]
All forms of coin (mopecoin) usage was disabled on October 22, 2024; this led to increasing amounts of criticism from players on Mopecord. As stated above, the developers of 3AM Experiences have cited the imbalanced Shop economy, legal issues, and extensive recoding as the reasons for coins being disabled. Coins were originally planned to be reinstated in January 2025, but was then pushed back to February, and then March.[3]
The long period of time without being able to earn coins, combined with the update being pushed back multiple times, has caused many players to express discontent with the developers for not adding coins back, and delaying the update multiple times.
Coins were re-enabled on March 29, 2025.
Gems[]
A new premium currency was announced to be in the works on March 26, 2025;[3] the announcement was met with concern. Some players in Mopecord have feared that the premium currency will increase the prevalence of microtransactions and pay-to-win mechanics.
Despite these critiques, Pasha confirmed that all skins that use the premium currency will be purely cosmetic;[4] none of them will be pay-to-win.[5] The rationale for introducing the new currency is that it will directly support the game and developers.[3]

The gem icon, created by Croccin
With the release of the premium currency – known as gems – on March 29, reactions so far have been overwhelmingly negative. Early criticisms of gems as a currency have been that the only apparent way to get gems is through microtransactions. Due to this, some Shop items such as the King Dragon skins, Golden, Locked, and Classic skin packs – which have been changed to cost gems rather than mopecoins – are now essentially paywalled; whereas it was previously possible to obtain these items without using real money, by "grinding" or "farming" for mopecoins through continuous gameplay.
This has led to requests to change the skin deals back to their original price in mopecoins rather than gems, or decrease the price of gem microtransactions.[6][7][8] Additionally, there have been multiple posts in Mopecord in which players request that gems be removed entirely for the reasons mentioned above, as well as seeing gems as an unnecessary and redundant currency.[9][10][11]
Another point of contention with gems has been the cost of purchasing them in USD. The cost of gems is typically a lot higher for players from countries which do not use the USD currency due to the high conversion rate.[12] Some players have been suggested that the developers add an option to purchase gems in Brazilian real alongside USD, to make gems more economically accessible to the large Brazilian playerbase.[13]
In response to this backlash, Mistik has stated that there will be a way for players to earn gems for free in the future.[2]
Trivia[]
- All skins bought from the Shop formerly displayed a yellow star-shaped (*) glint on a random part of the Animal occasionally.
- As of August 2021, there are over 1 million users who have registered with an account in Mope.io.[14]
- While Clickstan developed Mope.io, King Of Agario confirmed that he made the animals and Clickstan made the decisions of which skins went in the Shop.[15]
- The Golden King Dragon is, in terms of Mopecoins, worth less than the Golden Black Dragon. With the Golden KD at 20K and the BD at 25K, probably because the KD isn't used nearly as often as BD.
Glitches[]
- The free skins used to deplete coins from the account of the player that purchased them.[16] This bug was fixed on the "Hotfix 2.7" update on August 27, 2021.
- With the initial release of the summer update on July 30, 2021, Locked and Golden skins would not show up in the player's owned skins tab. This bug was fixed a couple days later, but has occasionally returned periodically.
- This bug returned in April–May 2025.
- The Shop has a reputation for sometimes failing to purchase a skin or feature, especially the Gold Trim and Classic Skin deals, and wasting valuable Mopecoins. However, it is sometimes a cache or account issue.
- Throughout time the account server has been known to crash for variable amounts of time, causing any to-be-given Mopecoins in a session to be lost, logging players out of their accounts, and making it impossible to log in.
- Mopecoins are sometimes randomly lost while playing, even if the account server does not crash. In most cases they are lost for good, but will sometimes be added to the player's account after several hours. This is often a cause of frustration among the community.
- Prior to the "Version 3 UI" update on October 14, 2021, earned coins would often not show on the home screen until the next day or later.
