Old (#GoldenAge)[]
The Meerkat skin from the "#GoldenAge" era of Mope.io is light orange with three paler stripes on its back. Its head is pointy with large eyes outlined with light brown and small, rounded brown ears. It has a small black nose with a highlight at the edge of its snout. The Meerkat has a fold behind its head and two short arms each with a black five fingered hand. Its tail is long, tipped with pale brown.
While digging only the tail and part of the arms will show.
Necromancer Meerkat[]
The Necromancer Meerkat is a 2021 Halloween skin, and is dark purple with a spiky behind. The head has completely purple eyes that look somewhat like eye sockets, a purple nose, and horns replacing the ears. It also has navy-green gloves and is holding a staff. Ghosts float around it.
Scubarat[]
The Scubarat is a 2021 Summer skin for the Meerkat. It is teal with deep blue stripes and highlights. It wears blue goggles and a snorkel. Two blue bubbles come out from the snorkel. When digging its snorkel will also show.
Puumpkat[]
The Puumpkat is a 2020 Halloween skin. It is green with considerable amounts of fur. Its ears are longer and pointy, and its eyes are narrowed. The Puumpkat has a large orange pumpkin half enveloping the bottom half of its body, carved with two holes for eyes and topped with a green twisted stem. The carved eyes each have an ominous white pupil.
Gold Trim[]
The Gold Trim Meerkat looks the same as the "#GoldenAge" era Meerkat but with slightly larger ears, gold stripes, gold outlines around the eyes, gold folds behind the head, and a tail tipped with gold. Its eyes look slightly lower.
Classic Skin[]
The Classic Meerkat has a very light-brown body with 3 stripes on the back of a slightly higher tint. It has 2 dark brown ears with lighter insides and the top end of the tail is black. It has a short rounded snout tipped with a black circle for a nose. Its eyes are outlined with brown.
Strategy[]
- The best way for the player to easily level up is to farm food sources in the Desert.
- Namely, cactus pears and dates can level up the player quite fast. Said food sources are easy to find across the whole Desert, though cactus pears are more common near cacti.
- Alternatively, the player can go into the Land biome to feed water pods into brown mushrooms by pressing
S
to produce berries. However, the player should only take the extra time to farm in Land if the Desert is unviable. - The player should not bother trying to level up by eating other players, as the range of prey available is limited (tiers 1 and 2 only), so prey will often be hard to find. Even if the player does locate prey, actually eating the other player will take more effort than it is worth.
- If a predator attempts to eat the player, they can use the Meerkat's "Dig" ability by holding
W
to create a muddy trail, which will slow most predators down.- If the predator is not slowed down by the trail, the player can dig underneath a hill or rock and emerge from whichever side the predator is not facing, and then move to a hiding hole.
- The player can also flee to quicksand or an oasis; most relevant predators cannot move fast in quicksand.

Trivia[]
- It can dig underground just like the Mole, but it also leaves Mud tracks. So far, it is one of the few Low Tier Animals that can create a terrain.
