The Flamingo is a tier 5 Ocean animal in Mope.io, and the equivalent of the Squid, Deer, Reindeer and Gazelle. It was introduced in-game on December 23, 2018.
Technical[]
- Upgrades from Pig, Woodpecker, Seal or Sea-horse at 2K XP.
- Upgrades to Jellyfish, Hedgehog, Peacock, Fox, Arctic Fox or Fennec Fox at 5K XP.
- The Flamingo can consume Plankton, Berries, Mushrooms, Lilypads, Carrots, Mangoes, Dates and Cactus Pears.
- Prey of the Flamingo includes all animals within the range of tier 4 to tier 1 (Sea-horse to Shrimp).
- Predators of the Flamingo includes all animals within the range of tier 6 to tier 13 (Jellyfish to Killer Whale)
- Its Special Ability has two different effects. Both require holding
Wfor the ability's full effects to be reaped:- "Fly", which is activated on top of a hill. If the Flamingo has enough XP, it will become entirely pink and can fly 20% faster.
- "Dig Food", which is activated in a water source of any kind. This produces plankton, and a combination of AI Shrimp, Trout Crabs and/or Sea-horses, and works similarly to the abilities of the Deer and Reindeer. It will also cause any diving prey to be resurfaced and stunned.
- The Passive Abilities of the Flamingo includes climbing on hills and being able to survive on dry land for an extended period of time.
- Despite being an ocean animal, the Flamingo cannot dive.
- It can use all types of Hiding Spots in the game without limitation.
Appearance[]
The Flamingo starts off with a light pink head and torso, with light pink tail-feathers as well. The ends of its wings are black. When digging with its "Dig Food" ability, the Flamingo's head will disappear and the four dots that show when diving will replace the Flamingo's head, giving the impression that its head is diving.
In addition, the Flamingo has a "dark" rare variety of sorts. The dark Flamingo variant has different skins to the common Flamingo; for most skins it is a deeper pink. The dark Fly Mango skin is a different color altogether, being orange-yellow as opposed to the common green-colored Fly Mango (symbolizing a mango becoming ripe).

Strategy[]
Using[]
- The player should try to dig for food first, using the Flamingo's special ability in water by holding
W.- That will give the player plenty of AI Shrimp, Trout, Crabs or Sea-horses to eat. Make sure to eat the bots quickly, as they will disappear after a certain time.
- The player can also use a Healing Stone to level up effectively. However, doing this method is more time-consuming than at previous tiers.
- Another somewhat risky strategy is to trail near a Shark, and scavenge the meat pieces that appear when it activates the Bite ability. This is more dangerous as at tier 5, the Flamingo is able to be eaten by the Shark.
- If the Shark is not focused on the player, they could try and bite its tail with caution. This also can be done to any predator, however, Sharks will be easier as their special ability forces them to focus on the animal that is victim to it.
- The best way to bite a predator is to be flying above them, and quickly press
Wwhen directly above their tail. Since Flamingos can land instantly at will, it is easier for the player to make themselves seem unfocused on the predator, and then to unsuspectingly bite them.

- If the Shark is not focused on the player, they could try and bite its tail with caution. This also can be done to any predator, however, Sharks will be easier as their special ability forces them to focus on the animal that is victim to it.
- Another option for farming food is to exit the Ocean, and go to a Lake in the Land biome. There, the player can eat Lilypads

- For most predators in the Ocean, the player can wait them out on a land-mass. However, the Turtle and Pelican can access hills, meaning the player will have to fly away when facing one of them.
- Being around King Crabs in this case can be beneficial for the player's protection on both Land and Sea, as they can exert predation on the aforementioned animals.
- Be aware that the Flamingo cannot dive, so the flying part of the player's ability is the only means of escape.

Trivia[]
- It is the only animal so far that can completely change body color (not including skins, except for the Black Dragon and King Dragon, which turn blacker as they lose lava.
- The Flamingo is the only animal that can dig for food in water, and the only animal to create other animals from its ability. The Dig Food in Water ability used to produce Snails in addition to the other AI animals, but now it no longer does.
- It will also resurface any prey that is diving. It used to resurface any diving animal, no matter their tier, but this was changed due to imbalances.
- The Fly Mango summer skin was based on an idea made by Beta tester Sunfishy.
Glitches[]
- The Flamingo had a bug in late February 2021 that would freeze another player's screen when its ability was used, provided the Flamingo was in their field of view. Doing so would block a player's vision, making it impossible to play, and therefore having to restart the site.
- While the bug was active the Flamingo was often used to freeze high-tiered players, such as Black Dragons and King Dragons, as a troll. However, the bug was also able to freeze the player themselves.
- This bug was acknowledged by the developers and patched a couple weeks later in early March.
