The Bar is a meter placed on the bottom of the screen, and is a feature present for all animals in Mope.io. It will show the quantity of some sort of source that is necessary for animals to survive, for example, water. Currently, there are 5 bars: the Health Bar, Water Bar, Air Bar, Lava Bar, and Energy Bar. All of them have different applications, but most animals have two (Water and Air). There is also an experience bar that enables animals to level up.

Types of Bars[]

Health Bar[]

Healthbar

The health bar

Main article: Health Bar

The Health bar is perhaps one of the most important bars in Mope.io. When the health bar is completely depleted for an animal, it will die (unlike other bars which when empty, except for the XP bar, will then affect the health bar). Health Bars will become invisible when they are full, but when affected, will appear a few centimeters above the wounded animal. It can be decreased by being damaged by a predator or a certain type of terrain, being tail-bitten by prey, from a special ability or if one's water/lava/energy bar is completely empty. If the health bar is not full, your animal will not be affected as long as it is not empty, however, animals that have been damaged will grow smaller in size due to XP-loss.

XP Bar[]

XPBar

The XP bar

Main article: XP

The XP bar, or the experience bar is a longer, yellow bar that is beneath the water/lava/energy bars. Unlike the others, your animal doesn't have to maintain the XP bar, but should do so in order to proceed to the next tier.

Water Bar[]

Water-0

The Water bar

Main article: Water

The Water bar is the bar that most animals in the game have. It is maintained by drinking water drops, or by being physically on top of a water source. There are multiple sources for regaining water, namely water droplets and water spots, as well as the Ocean biome. Water droplets will get it faster, whilst standing in a water source gives a more gradual refill. Physical exertion (i.e. boosting) and succumbing to Special Abilities that specifically aim to decrease water supply are also ways to lose water.

When the water meter is considerably low, the word "water" will be replaced with "Low Water", and the words turn red. Additionally, a blue spot will appear next to your animal, indicating to all players that you are low on water and an easy target. The dot disappears once you refill even just a little bit. When the water bar is completely depleted, your health bar will begin to decrease in brief intervals until you die, or get some water. When 1/8 of the water bar is left, animals can no longer boost.

Lava Bar[]

Main article: Lava

This bar is only available for lava animals. However, Lava bar mechanics are quite similar to that of a water bar. When a lava animal is low on lava, its speed will decrease. Unlike water, lava bars can not only be increased by using a healing stone, but also by being in the vicinity of lava sources, or by eating other animals. Lava animals can also spit out lava by pressing S; this rapidly decreases the amount of lava.

Energy Bar[]

Main article: Pterodactyl#Technical

Energy is an exclusive feature to the Pterodactyl so far. Unlike the other two, energy can be gained solely by eating food, other animals or by standing still (not whilst in a hiding hole). It can only be lost if tail-bitten, by using the Pterodactyl's special ability or when boosting.

Air Bar[]

Air bar

The Air bar

Air bars are unlike all the other meters in Mope.io. They appear when an animal is diving in Water, Lava or Mud. When an animal is diving, its air bar will slowly go down as its diving time increases. Any other bar you have (i.e. water, lava or energy) will disappear, but will still work as usual. When the air bar runs out, your animal will emerge from wherever it's diving and won't be able to see the air bar again until it dives. The Mole and Meerkat's Special Abilities allow them to dig, as well as dive like normal. Digging still uses the Air bar, and functions very similarly to diving, but will switch to diving if they enter Water.

Different animals have varying air bars. The Pelican and Falcon have the shortest diving times of player-controlled animals, the Sea Snail (an AI animal) has the shortest diving time of any animal, whilst the longest being a tie between The Kraken and King Crab (90 seconds as mentioned by the Changelog). However, the Sea Monster is a special case; unlike other animals it will not auto-resurface when it lost air, but instead begin suffocating and take damage like one would when low on water. Furthermore, the Sea Monster's air bar is in lieu of its water bar. Being in water sources will increase the air of the Sea Monster, while using its special ability, entering a hiding hole or being on dry-land will cause it to lose air.

Healing Stones[]

HealingStone

A Healing Stone.

Main article: Healing Stone

Healing Stones are a useful item when one wants to regain any of their bars except for air (excluding the Sea Monster, which has air instead of water). When in use, Healing Stones will slowly increase the water, lava or energy of whatever animal is using it. They also will provide varying amounts of XP to the animal using it depending on their tier. Refer to the main article for more info.

Trivia[]
